Golden Keys Homeownership Readiness Program

The Golden Keys Homeownership Readiness Programs are designed to prepare individuals and families for successful homeownership through education, guidance, and hands-on support. Our programs are offered virtually and in person and serve participants looking to purchase homes in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and surrounding tri-state areas, with plans to expand into additional states.

Participants can engage in one of the following Golden Keys program options:

Golden Keys Homeownership Workshop Series

The Golden Keys Homeownership Workshop Series is a two-part educational series designed for first-time homebuyers who want a clear understanding of the homeownership journey. Each workshop is 2 hours long and provides practical, easy-to-understand guidance.

Through these workshops, participants will learn:

The full homeownership process from start to finish
How to prepare financially for purchasing a home
Hear from experiences realtors and lenders and learn What to expect when working with them
Information on local, state, and federal homeownership grants and assistance programs

Participants who complete the workshop series and a required one-on-one counseling session with our partner HUD-approved agency will be eligible to receive a HUD Homebuyer Education Certificate, which can qualify them for the local homeownership grants and programs.

Golden Keys Homeownership Readiness Cohort

A Signature Program of the Good as Gold Foundation

The Golden Keys Homeownership Readiness Cohort is a signature, in-depth program created by the Good as Gold Foundation to take participants from mindset to mortgage through a guided, results-focused homeownership journey.

Unlike traditional workshops or one-time seminars, this cohort is a carefully designed, long-term experience that spans approximately 9–10 months and includes 13–16 structured sessions, offered both virtually and in person. Each session lasts 1–2 hours and is intentionally sequenced to build true readiness not just awareness.

To ensure a high-touch and personalized experience, each cohort is capped at 25 participants, allowing for individualized support, meaningful accountability, and the opportunity for participants to progress together in a supportive community.

The cohort experience includes:

Mindset development and wealth-building education
Practical budgeting and savings strategies
Opportunities to enroll in matched savings programs to accelerate and help build funds for homeownership
Comprehensive credit education with sponsored credit repair support to strengthen mortgage readiness
In-depth homeownership education beyond the basics
One-on-one housing counseling tailored to each participant’s financial profile
Direct access to realtors, lenders, and housing professionals
Education on available homebuyer grants and assistance programs
Hands-on learning experiences, including guided home walkthroughs

This program was intentionally created to fill a gap in traditional homeownership education by combining education, accountability, professional access, and individualized support into one cohesive pathway.

The ultimate goal of the Golden Keys Homeownership Readiness Cohort is mortgage pre-approval by the end of the program, positioning participants to move forward with confidence, clarity, and the tools needed to achieve sustainable homeownership.
